James and his team came yesterday to reduce the height of the two trees in my front garden. They did an excellent job in reducing the height and reshaping both trees. Care was taken to make sure both trees were the same shape and appealing to the eye. Everywhere was tidied up afterward and you wouldn't have know they had been there. A very efficient service from our initial chat to doing the work, and at a very competitive price. Highly recommended.

Turned up on time both when doing quote and actual work.Trees were sympathetically pruned and shaped and there was literally no mess or rubbish left behind. Youd never know theyd been there except for the expertly reshaped trees. Also work done was explained fully and advice given at each step. Thanks!!

From the initial visit and quote to the work on the day, James and his team delivered a first class service, tidying and sorting out some really big conifers. Really pleased with the job, the tidy up and the price. Great job and highly recommended.

I recently used this company to chip some conifers that we removed. James was brilliant, initially arranged to come on the Saturday but I informed him the trees were down earlier and he arrived that same afternoon. Got them chipped in speedy time, cleaned everywhere up, provided an excellent service and I would highly recommend him. He’s off to mother’s today!!!

tree felling and removal

Dead and nuisance trees should be felled with care and efficiency to ensure minimal ground and environmental disturbance.

Tree felling is the process of cutting down trees, either with hand tools or a chainsaw. It involves cutting through the trunk and any limbs of the tree and then removing the entire tree from the ground, roots and all.

Depending on the size of the tree, it can be a dangerous process, and should only be done by trained professionals with the right equipment.

Tree pruning and shaping

Tree shaping and pruning involves cutting, trimming, or altering the shape or size of a tree or branch to maintain a desired look.

Shaping and trimming may also be done to correct any structural imbalance or to reduce the amount of shading from overhanging branches without removing the tree.

We can cut and shape any tree species, with significant experience caring for overgrown, neglected, and irregular growth trees throughout the Peak District.

tree pollarding

Tree pollarding is the cutting of trees to train them to produce new shoots from old wood. It is also done to control the height and spread of trees, especially fast-growing varieties.

Pollarding can control the size of the tree and the shape of the canopy over time. The pollarding process involves cutting back the main branches and then trimming off any smaller branches.

This can be done on a regular basis, typically every 3-5 years, to ensure that the tree is maintained at the desired size.

crown reduction

Crown reduction is a pruning technique used to reduce the size of a trees canopy. It involves reducing a trees canopy by selectively pruning back lateral branches and reducing the length of the remaining branches in order to reduce the size of the trees overall crown.

This type of tree pruning is usually performed to reduce the risk of tree failure caused by wind storms and to restore a trees aesthetic balance.

It can also be used to improve a trees health by reducing issues such as crowding and fungal problems in some species.

hedge trimming

Hedge trimming involves using hedge trimmers or shears to cut back overgrown hedges and shrubs to maintain the desired shape and size of the plants. It often involves making angled and curved cuts, as well as carefully trimming away dead foliage and unhealthy growth.

Additionally, pruning and shaping may be required, alongside the removal of dead wood, to clean up the hedge and surrounding area.

hedge removal

Hedge removal involves physically exposing and cutting back the roots of the hedge, disposing of the waste, filling in and levelling the area. You can replant with new plants, shrubs, and trees where desired, or leave it as a blank canvas.

Depending on the size and type of hedge, removal may require the use of tools such as loppers, shears, saws, or even a chainsaw, and digging equipment for the roots.
